There are hundreds of things you can do to make your office space more environmentally friendly. Changing to a more sustainable workspace does not have to be overwhelming. Below are some tips that will assist you in making your office a more sustainable and eco-friendly space.
1. Go Paperless
What does going paperless mean? It simply means printing less and adopting a digital filing system. In this age of technology, most documents can be saved and emailed and there are software systems that allow for digital signatures. In addition there are many other project management and task tools that allow for digital sharing of information.
2. Encourage Recycling
Place a recycling bin or container in prominent areas in your office. Different bins can be designated for paper vs. cans and bottles.
3. Bring a desk plant
There are many plants that are small and don't require lots of light or continual care. Some great options:
- Chinese Evergreen
- Lucky Bamboo
4. Encourage employees to use dishes instead of paper or Styrofoam
